spectacular natural amphitheater shaped over tens of thousands of years. Carved by the ancient Sarmatian Sea, the dramatic limestone canyon embraces the Răut River and shelters a unique rock-hewn monastery, still quietly inhabited today. As you explore this extraordinary site, history, spirituality, and nature blend into a timeless atmosphere. The experience culminates with a refined moment at a panoramic belvedere, where you will enjoy a glass of fine wine while taking in sweeping views over the canyon below.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a Moldovan traditional lunch at Butuceni Eco Resort (Moldavian cuisine) with folk music and dance ensemble. Here you will experience local specialties, as “zeama”, “mamaliga”, and “scrob”, along with traditional pastry and homemade wine. Also, you will have the chance to see how traditional bread is placed in the oven and to taste it fresh, just as it comes out—warm, crusty, and full of flavor. In the evening, you will discover the world’s most impressive underground wine cities - Cricova Cellars. You will take part into an exclusive journey, where over 120 km of galleries unfold across nearly 53 hectares, each street bearing the name of a noble grape variety. During this private tour, you will discover the legendary wine collection, including one of Moldova’s oldest bottles, dating back to 1902, while gaining privileged access to areas usually reserved for specialists. A highlight of the experience is a behind-the-scenes encounter with the production of sparkling wines, crafted according to the authentic French Méthode Champenoise. Guests will observe the meticulous remuage processes — the traditional manual rotation of bottles to concentrate the sediments — and will even have the rare opportunity to try this delicate technique themselves, guided by experts.
